Here at The Wigmore, we pride ourselves on our family friendly approach, and we love our hometown too! There are lots of things to do in Luton and we have compiled our own top 8 picks, so take a look and have some fun this summer.

Things to do in Luton…The Wigmore’s Top Picks

1. Namco Funscape Bowling

Kids love bowling and this action packed bowling centre caters for all ages – there are ramps and gutter guards so that the under 6’s can play bowling with the older kids, and lots of arcade games and pool tables. There is also a sports bar and diner where you can refuel after your game!

2. Sunshine Riding School

If you want to try something different with the kids this summer, try horse riding. This approved and licensed horse riding centre also offers horse interaction events and even riding qualifications for keen equestrians!

3. Futures Fun Factory

An indoor soft play centre is a great place for the kids to run around and have fun! Packed with creative play equipment, there are also dedicated areas just for toddlers and babies, so that children of all ages can play in a safe, exciting environment. The onsite café provides a peaceful haven for the adults – so sit back and relax whilst the kids play.

4. Fancott Miniature Railway

Stop for a bite to eat at The Fancott Arms and discover the last pub railway in Britain! This miniature railway, set in the pub’s garden, is perfect for kids and it circles the whole playing field. There is also a lovely little play area for the children.

5. Stockwood Discovery Centre

This free admission museum provides hours of discovery for both children and adults alike. The extensive gardens, children’s outdoor discovery play area and the changing exhibitions will keep the kids happy for hours – and the café is the perfect stopgap when it’s time for lunch.

6. Dunstable Downs

Set within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), this breathtaking landscape is also the highest point in Bedfordshire, which makes it perfect for flying kites! Rambling, mini beast spotting and relaxing with a picnic are welcome too and there is a visitor centre with facilities.

7. ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Take the kids on a wild adventure! Home to more than 2500 species and set in the Chiltern Hills, a trip to Whipsnade will make their summer one to remember!
